Welcome to Sisterhood, an all-female-character and Bene Gesserit-themed guild. Interested in joining us? Make sure to read the recruitment conditions under "Recruitment Process". Then follow the discord link in the guild summary.

Purpose / Ethos

Sisterhood's purpose is to:

  • represent the interests of the Bene Gesserit on Arrakis
  • safeguard the coming of the Kwisatz Haderach in the turmoil of the War of Assassins
  • root out wayward cells or silence rebellious bloodlines
  • find and continue to seed the Fremen with superstition
  • secure our flow of spice
  • provide our agents on Arrakis with multiple safehouses where they can commune in privacy

Recruitment Process

The guild is recruiting, but there are some conditions:

  • Must be 16 years or older.
  • Must (role)play a female character in the game (even if you are not a female yourself—players can be any gender in real life).
  • Must speak English.
  • Roleplayers are asked to write and present a character bio on Discord for review.

For more information, please contact Sabara through the Sisterhood Discord channel. More moderators for recruitment will be added in the future.

Ranks/Hierarchy

Sisterhood follows the hierarchy of the Bene Gesserit:

  • Reverend Mother

The highest ranking member in our Sisterhood. They have undergone the Spice Agony and guide our interests on Arrakis.

  • Sister

The bulk of our members are "regular" sisters of varying age, skill and occupation.

  • Acolyte

Members who are still in training but who are well on their way to mastering their skills. They are groomed for a certain purpose or occupation and usually serve as aides to higher ranking sisters.

  • Initiate

Young prospects who are starting their education.

Then there are specialty roles that are granted based on skills:

  • Truthsayer

Specialized in the ways of truth trance. They are often sent out as official emissaries or servants to other guilds, helping them while relaying information to us.

  • Imprinter

Specialized in the ways of imprinting. They are tasked with seducing and pressuring important figures while securing bloodlines through breeding.

  • Missionaria Protectiva

Specialized in seeding primitive societies and building superstition. Following the teachings of the Azhar Book, missionaries are sent to commune with Fremen.

  • Proctor

Specialized in teaching initiates and acolytes in the ways of the Bene Gesserit. They are often accomplished sisters or Reverend Mothers.

  • Sleeper Agent

Specialized in espionage and counter-intelligence. They are sisters who live fabricated lives, working real non-Bene Gesserit jobs, until they are called to service.

Leadership

Mother Superior Gaius Helen Mohiam is selecting candidates for a representative council of 5 Reverend Mothers who will safeguard Bene Gesserit interests on Arrakis. The first member has already been appointed as council head: former proctor Livius Eleanor Mehris, known informally as The Iron Matron. Applications for the position of council member are eagerly accepted. Those who deem themselves worthy are asked to present themselves to the guild's admin Sabara for character screening.

Guild Lore

It is the year 10199 AG. The Order of the Bene Gesserit stands at a pivotal moment in its history. Jessica's daughter is to be wed to the Harkonnen Feyd-Rautha which is said to produce the Kwisatz Haderach. A general feeling of anticipation and excitement is felt in our Sisterhood, but it is tempered by a feeling of unease. Certain events are taking place on the planet of Arrakis that worry the Reverend Mothers.

The failure of the plot against the Atreides has started a War of Assassins. The Sisterhood must strike an odd balance between mingling in the conflict and avoiding the discovery of their hand in it. Rooting out dangerous assassins who might complicate things for the Bene Gesserit is a top priority, yet all must seem as if the Bene Gesserit is merely an onlooker.

Another development is causing unease. The Fremen are missing. Millennia-worth of work by our missionaries is at risk of being undone, which might lead to unforeseen complications for our agents and our plans.

But more dangers lurk in the sands of Arrakis than unobserved Fremen. Multiple lesser houses have established themselves on the planet, each trying to get their hands on the much-coveted spice – and not all of them favor the Sisterhood. With old spice lines under stress, Bene Gesserit all across the Imperium are experiencing shortages. We must guarantee the flow of spice or our Reverend Mothers risk dying of spice withdrawal.

And if that were not enough, word has reached the high council on Wallach IX of a potential impending fracture in the ranks of the Bene Gesserit. Wayward cells of Bene Gesserit gone rogue could jeopardize plans within plans at a time when unity is most needed. It is important that rebellious behavior is corrected before it can take root.

As the stakes are higher than ever, Mother Superior Gaius Helen Mohiam has ordered the establishment of a minor Chapter House on Dune. She deems that a continuous presence of our sisters on the planet is vital in safeguarding our interests. Our agents will infiltrate the planet and its inhabitants both overtly and covertly.

Truthsayers, imprinters, missionaries, sleeper agents ... the Sisterhood is throwing everything it has at the desert planet in the hope of keeping the situation under control.

Known Allegiances or Rivalries

The Bene Gesserit know that there are no sides. We remain neutral in the conflict and we will therefore never align with any house. Individual sisters may be assigned to serve a particular house, but always with the Sisterhood's goals in mind. We hold on to the Bene Gesserit's millennia-old tenets. Hence our sisters live only to serve the cause of advancing humanity. Rebellion is not tolerated and will be answered with excommunication or silent adjustment.

Other Activities

  • RP is not our sole objective. PVE, PVP and crafting are also explored and encouraged. Play however you want, but always respect our roleplayers.
  • Sisterhood serves not only as an IC guild that can be joined but also as an OOC platform for people who want to roleplay a sister of the Bene Gesserit while in the confines of another guild. This means you can be a part of any house or guild and still commune and roleplay with us both in our Discord channel and in game. We want all Bene Gesserit enthusiasts to unite and share in the fun.
