Welcome to the Sisterhood, an all-female-character and Bene Gesserit-themed guild. Interested in joining us? Make sure to read the recruitment conditions under "Recruitment Process". Then follow the discord link in the guild summary.
Purpose / Ethos
The Sisterhood's purpose is to:
- represent the interests of the Bene Gesserit on Arrakis through social manipulation of greater and lesser houses
- safeguard the coming of the Kwisatz Haderach in the turmoil of the War of Assassins through subterfuge and force if necessary
- find and continue to seed the Fremen with superstition through exploration, infiltration and our Missionaria Protectiva
- secure our flow of spice through establishment of a trade line managed by sisters only
- provide our agents on Arrakis with a safehouse where they can commune in privacy
Recruitment Process
The guild is recruiting, but there are some conditions:
- Must be 16 years or older.
- Must (role)play a female character in the game (even if you are not a female yourself—players can be any gender in real life).
- Must speak English to the degree that you can string sentences together (but no need to be a native English speaker).
For more information, please contact Sabara through the Sisterhood Discord channel. More moderators for recruitment will be added in the future.
Ranks/Hierarchy
Sisterhood follows the hierarchy of the Bene Gesserit:
- Reverend Mother
The highest ranking member in our Sisterhood. They have undergone the Spice Agony and guide our interests on Arrakis.
- Proctor
The second highest ranking member in our Sisterhood. They have not undergone the Spice Agony but have proven themselves capable leaders and teachers.
- Sister
The bulk of our members are "regular" sisters of varying age, skill and occupation.
- Acolyte
The youngest members in training who are mastering their skills and are groomed for a certain purpose or occupation.
- Initiate
Young prospects. They have no actual rank and are not yet part of our Order proper.
Then there are specialty ranks that are granted based on skills and occupation (and yes you can have multiple):
- Truthsayer
Specialized in the ways of truth trance. They are often sent out as emissaries to other guilds, helping them while relaying information to us.
- Imprinter
Specialized in the ways of imprinting. They are often used as concubines for house leaders, breeding purposes or as spies.
- Missionara Protectiva
Specialized in seeding primitive societies and building superstition. Following the teachings of the Azhar Book, they are sent to commune with Fremen.
- Sister Artifex
Specialized in craftsmanship and trade. They provide our Sisterhood with everything from housing, clothing and weapons to food, solaris and spice.
- Valkyrie
Specialized in all combat disciplines. They are used in rare cases when excessive force is needed, either to protect our Sisterhood or another guild.
Leadership
Our Mother Superior is Gaius Helen Mohiam. We answer to the Reverend Mothers appointed by her. We are currently awaiting appointment of a Reverend Mother who will lead our interests on Arrakis.
Guild Lore
It is the year 10199 AG. The Order of the Bene Gesserit stands at a pivotal moment in its history. Jessica's daughter is to be wed to the Harkonnen Feyd-Rautha which is said to produce the Kwisatz Haderach. A general feeling of anticipation and excitement is felt in our Sisterhood, but it is tempered by a feeling of unease. Certain events are taking place on the planet of Arrakis that worry the Reverend Mothers. Millennia of Missionara Protectiva had seeded the Fremen, to build a secure path for the Order, but now the Fremen are missing. As Arrakis is expected to be the birthplace of the One Who Can Be Many Places at Once, it could mean a fatal flaw if said disappearance is not investigated.
As the stakes are higher than ever, Mother Superior Gaius Helen Mohiam has ordered the establishment of a Chapter House on Dune. A continuous and overt presence of our sisters on the planet is vital in safeguarding our interests, lest all be lost in one swift stroke. Under the guise of helping the Emperor maintain order on the spice planet, an entire regiment's worth of sisters has been sent by Guild Heighliner to Arrakis to mingle in the conflict. In the spirit of sparing no expense, the Reverend Mothers have prepared in secret a special combat training program on Wallach IX that combines Bene Gesserit combat abilities with Ginaz swordsmanship. The resulting fighting force are called Valkyries and they have been sent alongside other sisters to enact excessive force in name of the Sisterhood–should there be need of it.
With a War of Assassins unfolding on the planet, old spice lines maintained for the Bene Gesserit are under stress. Shortages have risen all across the Imperium. Our Sisterhood's presence on the planet is meant to mitigate that. Sister Artifexes are hard at work building our settlements while also influencing the local market in our favor. By cutting out the middle man and setting up a direct trade line, they hope to maintain and increase our flow of spice, for our needs are more pressing than ever. But all must happen with discretion if we are to keep the Emperor's eye fixed on the conflict. Drawing his ire, or even that of other houses, could prove disastrous for our Sisterhood.
More dangers lurk on Arrakis as multiple lesser houses have established themselves on the planet, each trying to get their hands on the much-coveted spice. And not all favor us. We will use our Truthsayers to pinpoint houses that show strength and can be swayed to work alongside us. Our Imprinters have a hand in that swaying. Some have already found their way in households and they are relaying interesting information to us. Information that we can barter with. Their work will allow us to build new contingency plans that could prove vital in maintaining our long-installed plans for the coming of the Kwisatz Haderach.
Known Allegiances or Rivalries
The Bene Gesserit know that there are no sides. Whatever house serves our interests, we "ally" with to the outside world. We of the Sisterhood are orthodox in our ways. We follow the guiding principles of the Bene Gesserit and no more. Hence, we condemn Bene Gesserit gone rogue.
Other Activities
The Sisterhood serves not only as a guild that can be joined but also as a platform for people who want to roleplay a sister of the Bene Gesserit while in the confines of another guild. This means you can be a part of any house or guild and still commune and roleplay with us both in our Discord channel and in game.
