Overview

In Dune: Awakening, the player may experience a vast amount of death. As such the game will feature various consequences upon the players death.

These are:

Death in Combat

In combat, the player will first go down, but not completely die. IF playing with others, they will have the opportunity to pick you up. However, if you're alone or no one can reach you in time, the player can use water to 'revive' themselves.[1]

If all else fails and the player does die, they will drop resources, any spice, “harvesting resources”, and the money currency (Solari) which can be banked at villages and such.[1]

Death by Sandworm

If a player gets eaten by a sandworm, anything and everything being carried by that player is gone, swallowed by the sandworm.[1]

Respawn

If the player needs to respawn, there are 4 different types:

  • Beacons - the player can place down a beacon of sorts and spawn there, wherever[1]
  • At your base - the player can respawn at their base,[1] likely choosing which one if they have multiple (speculation)
  • Vehicles - the player can respawn at their last used vehicle[1]
  • Checkpoints - an example of this checkpoint system is in eco labs, when entering an eco-lab, a spawn point is created just outside of the lab[1]

Consequences

Consequences of dying (not to a sandworm) are:

  • Dropping spice and Solari[1]
  • Durability hit to "some" equipment[2]
  • Dropping half of resources[2]
  • Leaving your body to be harvested and looted[1]
