The Dune: Awakening Community Wiki is a project for and by the community of D:A players. Because of this, nearly all pages on the wiki are available for anyone to edit and contribute to. However, as all community projects there needs to be processes in place to resolve disputes and moderate unwelcome behaviour.
In the first instance, Editors (trusted and active contributors who are promoted based on the collective approval of the editorial team) have the general oversight and discretion to handle small/trivial matters, for instance via temporary page locks. However for larger rule changes or page protections, the community has agreed upon the below process. This page will be updated as new rules are agreed upon by the community- given the following process
Process for agreeing Rule changes
- 1 - Discuss proposals as an editor team for new rules/restrictions, taking in ideas from the community
- 2 - Once an idea has been made, Implement it quickly (either immediately or within a short time frame). The reasoning for this is to avoid "bike shedding" issues.
- 3 - Put an announcement out in the wiki-update channel (and on affected page, if applicable)
- 4 - Open a forum thread in the Wiki Discord for it, inviting discussion from anyone, for a period of 2 weeks.
- 5a - After the 2 weeks, if there's feedback, address it, amend the rules if necessary and extend the trial. If after 2 extensions it's not right, it isn't working so we need to roll back and go back to the drawing board.
- 5b - However if no feedback/all is good, the rule becomes settled and the discussion forum is locked to preserve the decision record, and added to this page.
