This page is currently established as a heavy work-in-progress while the sietch/guild is built. If you have any interest in participating in the creation process of this guild, either technical or lorewise, I would be more than happy to indulge that mutual interest! I can be reached through DMs on both the official Dune: Awakening Discord and the Dune: Awakening Community Wiki Discord. - Khadim (Aug. 11, 2024)

Purpose / Ethos

The Fremen of Sietch Khibat (demonymically known as Khibati) seek to reclaim and restore their lost heritage, as well as discover the fate of their former neighboring Fremen tribes who have since disappeared and left their homes and sacred domains abandoned. Setting out to become one with the deserts again now that they have been returned to their homeworld, the Khibati find purpose in rediscovering and safeguarding their ancestral sites that have become forlorn to time among the sands, while simultaneously navigating the ineludible political landscape of the various Houses which have established fiefdom on Arrakis during its vulnerable state.

Projected Gameplay/Activity Focuses:

  • Exploration - Scouting and mapping regions (especially the Deep Desert upon weekly storm resets) for locations of valuables, alongside general PvE-focused venturing.
  • Diplomacy - Establishing mutually beneficial connections with other guilds and groups for cooperative efforts on Arrakis.
  • Roleplay - Contributing, both on the interpersonal scale between characters and interorganizational scale between guilds, to a shared and evolving in-house storyline that coincides with the progression of the game's narrative.

Recruitment Process

For any recruitment requests or inquiries, feel free to reach out to Khadim on the official or community wiki Discord for more information (linked above). For those interested in roleplay; all recruitment is handled out-of-character for the time being. Pre-built character backgrounds for Fremen characters are welcome, or assistance can be offered to help you build a character background with its own unique history and place within the sietch (including non-Fremen characters).

Ranks/Hierarchy

Sietch Khibat follows the same conventional hierarchy of other Fremen sietches, though has a number of unique additional ranks to help diversify roles among the tribe population.

  • Naib (leader) - Also known among the Khibati as Kaza Suhl, "Leader of Peace"; the leader of the sietch and the Khibati Fremen. Responsible for directing the tribe's interests.
  • Ruhai (officer) - "Seer"; a position of leadership which oversees various aspects of the sietch and its functions, such as Hiruhai (seer of crafts) and Tijaruhai (seer of trade).
  • Qiday (veteran) - "Honored"; a prestigious title granted to Khibati who have distinguished themselves through feats among the tribe, responsible for issuing guidance to other members of the sietch.
  • Yilahn (member) - "Sibling"; an accepted member of the Khibati people.
  • Dhani (initiate) - "Sanctioned"; a title afforded temporarily to outsiders, typically during peace summits, for the period of time in which they are permitted sanctuary within the sietch.

Leadership

At current time, the guild is under the leadership of Khadim exclusively, however there is full intention to promote other members into leadership positions as the membership/playerbase grows.

Guild Lore

A long-lived and highly respected tribe among the sietches of Arrakis, the Khibati were a quasi-nomadic Fremen tribe that was known within the bedwine for their diplomatic traditions.

Known Allegiances or Rivalries

Aside from the unity granted by the bond of the ichwan bedwine, Sietch Khibat has taken this inherent allegiance further with a number of Fremen tribes over the many generations of patronage they have provided to their brethren sietches. Their nature as peacemakers has found them able to craft mutual alliance with non-Fremen organizations and houses since returning to Arrakis as well:
