Shields are a defensive asset, used to stop molecules travelling at speeds higher then the maximum set amount. As such, they are used for protecting all manners of objects from incoming projectiles, and even air. They work using the same effect as space-folding, using the Holtzman Effect to repell molecules.[1] [2] [3]
