The High Walls Corporation, or HWC, is a well-established trading guild founded by SAND, with a focus on trading HWC is using the knowledge, skill, and dedication of its members to build a corporation that will rule merchant halls of Arrakis.
Purpose / Ethos
High Walls Corporation has two goals.
1. Make money
The main goal of the overall guild is to create a framework to make money, with a specialized division of traders and an order system that allows any customer to place an order for items, whether they be the highest of quality or just basic crafting materials.
2. Create a guild that allows anyone to have fun
The secondary goal of the High Walls Corp is to create a framework inside the guild that allows any member or team to do what they love, want, or just feel like doing. The goal of a game is to enjoy it. Therefore we stray away from pigeonholing our community members and keep an open concept, which makes us unique.
The High Walls System
The guild has a totally custom system, developed in-house by the IT Director FlamingMojo. This handles the guild inventory and item stockpiles, tracking trades and market values of wares, and providing a "self-serve" teams and mission system. Any member can form a team to group up and participate on guild missions, to further the common interests. These missions can be small - "Gather X resource", "Craft Y weapons", "Transport Z cargo", or larger more all-hands-on-deck ones, such as exploring and taking advantage of the new shifting sands after the weekly Coriolis storm.
Recruitment Process
HWC is recruiting and open to new members joining. Simply use the link in the info box or contact SAND (@sand_15) although he has a proclivity for abduct-recruiting every new member on the official discord that dares make themselves known.
The Guild has an application process handled by their internal system, simply consisting of a form and admin review.
Ranks/Hierarchy
HWC splits the member base into 3 divisions, which handle different facets of gameplay - although these may change over time, as more is known about the game
- Logistics - Handling the building, transportation, gathering and organising of the guilds inventory and vehicle fleet
- Security - Handling the defense of the guild's interest, protecting other members from all threats and maintaining the peace on missions
- Trading - Handling trades with other players/guilds, facilitating sales and bargaining for the best economic interests of the guild.
Each Division is led by a few Division Leads. Separate to the in-game rank hierarchy is the leadership and management branches, of Community Managers, Coordinators and Helpers
Both Division Leads and lower management to the Senior Representative (effectively COO), Hubbley
There are separate staff teams for different skills - IT, Graphic Design, Social Media - which assist in creating content for the guild and running the systems.
Leadership
At the top of HWC leadership sits The Council, each well known figures in the Dune Awakening Community with individual experience of running gaming communities
- SAND - The Duke, founder of HWC. Responsible for recruitment and main direction
- Hubbley (Zabien) - The Senior Representative, co-founder of HWC. Responsible for internal staff management and external representation of the guild
- FlamingMojo - The IT Director. Responsible for creating and maintaining all the internal guild systems, bots and websites. Also admins the Dune: Awakening Community Wiki, and runs the Dune Book Club
Known Allegiances or Rivalries
HWC is a founding member of The Spice Syndicate Alliance of guilds, consisting of Imperial Spice Corporation, Indominus Legion, House Jablonowski and others. The syndicate has common protective and priority trade agreements.
As a trading guild, HWC strives to be neutral or amicable with most other guilds and has no known enemies, and is not at war with any other faction.
Other Activities
HWC is primarily focused on Dune: Awakening, however during the waiting period, it has hosted events, giveaways and gaming servers for members to play on other games in the meantime. Games include Palworld, Enshrouded, Project Zomboid, Minecraft, Unreal Tournament 1999 and others
