Private servers
Private Servers for Dune: Awakening were announced on 06/02/2025 in a blogpost[1]. The servers will be available on June 5th, Head Start Launch Day, to rent and play on. Initially you will only be able to rent from 3 different server hosts, GPORTAL, Nitrado, and xREALM.
How the Private Servers Work
When you rent a private server you will gain access to your own personal Hagga Basin. The limit of how many players you can have on your Hagga Basin will depend on the limit set by the server host. You do not get your own personal Deep Desert or personal Social Hubs, those are shared by other private Hagga Basins using the same server host. Servers can be named and password protected but to not currently have any kind of admin panel. The settings that you can configure can be different between server host providers, but these are the ones Funcom has made available:
- Security Zones: You can make your Hagga Basin entirely PvP if you would like or choose to keep the same PvP pockets like official servers
- Taxation: You can disable taxation on your server
- Sandstorms: You can disable sandstorms for your Hagga Basin
Any changes made to your Hagga Basin will not change the way the social hubs or Deep Desert play. For example, you might have a Hagga Basin with full PvP on and no taxation while another Hagga Basin on the same World Server has normal PvP spots but no sandstorms. When both of you meet up in that servers Deep Desert, it will be the same for both of you.
You can also visit other Hagga Basins on the same server as you. This works in the exact same way as it does on official servers except that you can claim land, a feature not available on official servers for visitors. You cannot visit official servers or interact with them in anyway from a private server. Your character will also not be able to be transferred to an official server for the time being. If you stop paying for the rented server, the Hagga Basin and all characters on it will be deleted.
