Rapiers are a type of Long Blades weapon in Dune Awakening. They receive bonuses alongside other Long Blades and melee weapon damage buffs. Rapiers differ from longswords as they focus on 1v1 duels between you and another with almost no AoE attacks. Block is replaced with a parry and backwards stepping attacks, primary attack opens with a parry and then a flurry of stabs. This weapon is hyper specialized in parrying and distance manipulation. The rapier has a different parry window then any other melee weapon in-game and may take longer to learn because of that. The rapier has a longer reach then standard longswords due to their length and the fact you lunge with forward stabbing attacks. Blocking causes you to parry and backpedal pulling yourself away from the enemy making the range shorter then other blades in this attack style. When sprinting you hold the weapon against the back of your arm in a reverse grip. You will encounter your first rapier users in-game often by fighting the Mas Kharet though some house soldiers do carry them as well.

Standard

Standard variants of the Rapier open up at Aluminum tier with House weapons. They come 28.5 damage at House Rapier (aluminum) to 115.4 damage at Regis Rapier (Plastinium).

Unique

Unique versions of the Rapier often stack a poison effect onto whoever you are fighting till they are poisoned. This means the rapier can deal significant damage even to an shielded opponent as poisoning goes through shielding.

Notable Unique Poison Rapiers:

Another notable Rapier is Tier 6 Static Needle which boasts the Longswords extra shield damage vs the usual poisoning trait of unique rapiers.
