Recruitment Process
THE PATH TO BROTHERHOOD BECOME ONE OF US The road to becoming Ronin is not easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is. Those who endure emerge stronger, freer, and part of a brotherhood bound by choice, not chains.
THE TRIALS PHASE I: THE APPROACH Initial contact and assessment. Not all who seek us are ready to find us. PHASE II: THE FIVE TRIALS For fourteen days, you will be tested in body, mind, and spirit. Each trial reflects one of our core tenets and reveals your true nature. PHASE III: THE VIGIL A time of reflection and final choice. Many realize the path is not for them. This honesty is respected. PHASE IV: THE BLOODING Those who endure stand before their new brothers, recite our sacred code, and are reborn as true Ronin.

FROM EXPERIMENTS TO WARRIORS We were not born as Ronin. We were forged through fire and betrayal.
PROJECT CARRION House Harkonnen's secret military program created us. Soldiers, prisoners, slaves—all became test subjects. They stripped us of identity, injected us with the experimental "Substance S," and sent us to die on suicide missions across Arrakis. The compound enhanced our combat abilities but had an unintended side effect: it gradually restored fragments of our will, weakening their control protocols with each deployment.
THE BREAKING POINT During Operation Dustwalker, our unit was abandoned deep in the desert—a field test with no expected survivors. Seven of us made it back to the transport against all odds. In that moment of shared survival, we realized a truth: together, we could break our chains. We seized the transport, weapons, and remaining Substance S. The handlers never saw the revolt coming. We disappeared into the desert that was meant to be our grave.
THE RONIN PATH Now we call ourselves the Ronin Rebellion—like the masterless samurai of ancient Terra, we owe allegiance to no House, no Baron, no Emperor. We are bound only to each other and to our freedom. The Substance S still flows through our veins—we cannot survive without it. But we've learned to refine it, to control what once controlled us. Our numbers have grown with others like us—discarded experiments, escaped prisoners, deserters seeking purpose beyond ancient feuds. We stand neutral in the conflicts of Arrakis, taking contracts that serve our needs and refusing those that would make us pawns once more.
