Purpose The guild is the fierce guardian of Arrakis, blending spiritual reverence for Shai-Hulud with a relentless mission to defend the desert and its people. They interpret the sandworms’ actions as divine commands to wage war against threats, be it ecological imbalance or off-world exploitation, while ensuring the Fremen thrive through sustainable spice harvesting and martial dominance.

Structure The guild’s hierarchy reflects its dual nature as a spiritual and military force: Initiates: Recruits trained in desert survival, combat, and the ways of Shai-Hulud. Adepts: Elite worm riders and warriors skilled in guerrilla tactics and sacred rituals. Masters: Veteran commanders who lead in battle, train fighters, and interpret spice visions. Council of Elders: Strategic war leaders with a direct connection to Shai-Hulud, guiding the guild in times of conflict.

Practices Guild members undertake the Spice Trance, a ritual where massive doses of melange reveal Shai-Hulud’s battle plans through visions. They perform War Consecrations, blessing crysknives and armor in the sandworms’ name before combat, and hold ceremonies to honor fallen warriors and sanctify spice harvests as fuel for their holy wars.
