Swordmaster

Overview
"Revered throughout the Imperium, Swordmasters of the fallen Ginaz School still represent the pinnacle of fighting prowess in the Known Universe."
Swordmasters are one of the training disciplines available for characters to begin as in Dune: Awakening, or to learn later on through gameplay. This line of training encourages close-quarters & aggressive tactics.[1]

Training in Arrakis can be undergone once the player has met the Swordmaster Trainer, Seron Varlin, in Harko Village.

Abilities
Slow Deflection - Enter a defensive stance to deflect dart attacks.
Cost: 1 Skill point.

Knee Charge - Jump forward with a knee attack, dealing concussive damage and staggering the target. This is a usefully early game ability which serves both for combat as well as for faster traversal when used in combination with Suspensor Belts. To do this, simply launch into a Knee Charge and immediately activate your Suspensor Belt in order to preserve the momentum of the charge and float forward larger distances (note that doing this on the open sands will likely attract a worm).
Cost: 1 Skill point for first level, 2 points for second level, and 3 points for third level.

Retaliate - Cast the ability before blocking to parry with a buffed attack that bleeds and deals extra damage.
Cost: 2 Skill points

Inspiration - Buff you and your teammates melee damage for a short time after casting the ability.
Cost: 2 Skill point for first level, 3 points for second level, and 4 points for third level.

Crippling Strike - Lunge forward and slash the ankles of the enemy in front of you, slowing them, increasing the stamina cost of their dashes, and slightly damaging them.
Cost: 2 Skill points

Foil - After casting this ability you parry the next melee attack and counter, damaging them and reducing their damage for a short duration.
Cost: 2 Skill points

Eye of the Storm - Activating this ability will cause your character to begin slashing everything within close range, damaging and putting them off balance.
Cost: Cost: 2 Skill point for first level, 3 points for second level, and 4 points for third level.

Techniques
Dance of Blades - Gain a temporary damage buff after killing an enemy and a green glow around your weapon.
Cost: 2 Skill points for first level, 3 points for second level, and 4 points for third level.
Use: Techniques must be slotted and are passives which effect your characters abilities in unique ways.

Reckless Lunge - Gain damage mitigation when you lunge for a sprint attack.
Cost: 2 Skill points for first level, 3 points for second level, and 4 points for third level.
Use: Techniques must be slotted and are passives which effect your characters abilities in unique ways.

Disciplined Breathing - Increase passive stamina recovery rate.
Cost: 1 Skill point for first level, 3 points for second level, and 4 points for third level.
Use: Techniques must be slotted and are passives which effect your characters abilities in unique ways.

Thrive on Danger - Once your health falls below 30% you gain heightened health regen speed, shorter delay in regen start, and reduced poise damage.
