Overview

"Every Great House of the Landsraad fields its own standing army or House Guard, and the backbone of these formations are career soldiers known as troopers."


Troopers are one of the training disciplines available for characters to begin as in Dune: Awakening, or to learn later on through gameplay. This line of training encourages offense & demolition tactics.[1] The Trooper uses a combination of various ranged weaponry with suspensor technology and weapons to shape the battlefield to maximum effect.

Training

Basic Trainer: Ghavouri, located within Griffin's Reach Outpost, South Hagga Basin

Advanced Trainer: Kara Valk, located within Arrakeen, firstly on the upper floor of Central Plaza, then later at the bar within the Salusan Bull.

Skills Tree - 132 pts

Gunnery - 68 pts

- Effects damage output of Disruptors, Scatterguns and Heavy Weapons as well as weapon and tool durability.

Suspensor Training - 26 pts

- Effects overall suspensor efficiency and provides access to gravity grenades.

Tactical Tech - 38 pts

- Provides access to area of effect weapons, and skills that benefit mobility, trooper ability cooldowns and ranged accuracy

Abilities

Abilities must be equipped and activated from the ability bar.

Anti-Gravity Field - 1pt - Negates the effect of gravity in a spherical area. Used to lift enemies or prevent fall damage.

Assault Seeker - 2/3/4pts - A modified hunter seeker that flies in a straight line and explodes upon contact. Can be triggered to explode with a second activation.

Attractor Field - 2pts - Once attached to an enemy any shot fired into the field will be redirected into their center of mass.

Collapse Grenade - 2pts - Attracts anybody within a spherical area to its center of mass, temporarily stunning them and leaving them open to area of effect attacks.

Energy Capsule - 2pts - Increases ranged damage temporarily.

Explosive Grenade - 2/3/4pts - Explosive grenade that damages anybody within a certain radius. Shockwave can still damage shielded enemies.

Gravity Field - 2pts - Amplifies effect of gravity in a spherical area. Used to slow enemies and drain their power and decrease the speed of projectiles.

Shigawire Claw - 1/2/3pts - Wrist-mounted launcher that fires a claw attached to extreme tensile strength shigawire which then launches the player in the direction of the claw. Can also be used to temporarily stagger opponents during combat.

Suspensor Blast - 2pts - Manipulates suspensor forcing it to explode around you pushing enemies back, damaging them and impairing their movement temporarily. Holding the ability increases the damage dealt and times the blast release.

Techniques

Techniques only take effect when equipped.

Battle Hardened - 2/3/4pts - Reduces Trooper ability cooldowns.

Center of Mass - 2/3/4pts - Increases damage that hits the body or shields, but decreases damage of headshots.

Death from Above - 2/3/4pts - Whilst suspended, any attacks using weapons will have a damage bonus.

Heavy Weapon Agility - 2/3/4pts - Move faster whilst using heavy weapons.

Suspensor Dash - 2pts - Pressing the dash button while suspended performs a mid-air dash.
