Dune: Awakening employs a system of combined arms, which means that combat will be divided in (at least) three different parts: melee, ranged and vehicular combat. [1][2] [3]

Ranged combat seems to be important in Dune: Awakening, and Arrakis is almost the only planet viable for ranged combat, as it is limited by the use of shields. [4] [3] [5]

Heavy weapons

Dune: Awakening will feature heavy weapons as well, containing flamethrowers for crowd control and heavy lasguns for vehicle destruction. Other possibilities might be handheld rocket launchers etc. [11] [12]
