Dune: Awakening Interview: Will Release "When it's Ready"	https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG9kfpv43h4	Pre-Beta	March 27th, 2024	Interview with Natascha Röösli: There will be player hubs, main quests, & NPCs DA will provide a huge open world environment You have to manage your water to avoid dying of thirst There is mining, base building, and crafting You can do contracts for NPCs in addition to the "main quest" Later in the game after acclimating to Arrakis players will be encouraged to form guilds and begin to interact with the political system of DA PvP is about fighting over resources and (political) objectives as opposed to base raiding or claiming land PvP is designed to be voluntary When you build your first base there is a force field that protects it from being destroyed as long as you power it "Kanly" is enforced as well so PvP won't really be an option in the starting zones Some zones are more PvE or PvP focused and you'll be alerted as you move from one to another The end game is all about rising throw the ranks of your faction empowering it on Arrakis Funcom is focused on "mak[ing] the game fit the lore not the lore fit the game" Any adjustments to the lore go through the Herbert estate or Legendary DA's lore is more in-line with the books while its art style heavily borrows from the Denis Villeneuve films There will be Muad'dibs in DA, and donkeys in stillsuits

They move faster than any vehicle Co-operative gameplay, base building First Funcom game featuring suiting Game being based on Legendary art visuals but book story/world Wanting to get people new to Dune hooked "Survival opening with MMO ending" Character customisation - from Bald Harkonnen to flowing hair Atreides Mentors and trainers with skill trees Factions being a choice, people can join in with the War of Assasins or remain independent Day/Night cycle - at night ships hunt players and water can be harvested more easily Logging out in the environment, you are safe, other people can't steal your items Multiple maps, with different player caps Not decided on private servers, given their server structure Spice can mutate abilities, as players can "see a little into the future" In a pvp zone there is friendly fire Some areas are "soft gated" by environments, etc radiation Experienced players can give new people gear and "fasttrack" them past these soft gates Crafting is the heart of getting gear - you need schematics and machinery to craft 33% gear, 33% skill based, 33% stats roughly for pvp experience Not 1-1 gear drops, you will loot something of value Deep Desert has seamless transfer between servers This is not an MMORPG - It's a survival game, with MM levels of players DBNO - Down But Not Out, if you have enough water you can self-revive or be picked up by a friend Sandworm eats all your gear, PvP you lose gear durability, but only lose some resources Closed Betas since December, hopefully Open beta before launch.
