Recruitment Process
Grandpa’s Army welcomes mature, strategic, and community-minded players who want to thrive together on Arrakis. Our recruitment process ensures each new member understands our values, playstyle, and expectations before joining the ranks.
- Join our Discord.
- Add your Discord name to our Guild Spreadsheet as well as the other information (pinned in the #general-chat channel)
- Add your Steam friend code to the #steam-friend-code channel. (optional, but helpful)
- If you are interested in PvP, post in the #pvp-strategy channel.
- And last but not least, join us in voice chat and introduce yourself.
- You do not have to be a Grandpa to join (Most of the guild is 40+, but also not a requirement)
- Women are encouraged to join as well. We are a mixture of men and women, but mostly men and would like to balance that out.
Ranks/Hierarchy
🪖 Grandpa’s Army — Ranks & Structure
A community-led guild where strategy is shared, respect is earned, and everyone has a voice.
🟩 1. Leadership Circle
🔹 Commander (Grandpa)
Guild Founder & Coordinator. Guides the vision, ensures smooth operations, and helps steer big-picture decisions. Holds final say only when consensus can’t be reached — always aims for collaboration over command.
🔹 Council Members (Senior Officers)
A group of trusted members selected for their experience, reliability, and teamwork. The Council helps guide decisions, moderate issues, and support all areas of guild life. New council members may be voted in as needed.
🟨 2. Coordinators
🔹 Squad Leaders (PvP/PvE Captains)
Lead mission groups, coordinate battles, and mentor members. Empowered to run events and field decisions but are expected to act with input and transparency.
🔹 Logistics Officers (Support Leads)
Handle base-building coordination, crafting priorities, and resource distribution. They take suggestions from members and collaborate with squads to support the greater guild effort.
🟦 3. Core Members
🔹 Veterans (Proven Members)
Long-time contributors who are active, helpful, and knowledgeable. Often mentor new players and have a voice in strategic discussions.
🔹 Specialists (Role-Focused Members)
Players who excel in a niche: scouting, harvesting, combat builds, tech trees, etc. Their insights are valuable in decision-making for those areas.

🔹 Troopers (Full Members)
The active heart of the guild. These players have completed their trial, participate in events, and are encouraged to vote on guild-wide decisions, contribute feedback, and help shape the path forward.
🟥 5. New Recruits
🔹 Initiates (Trial Members)
New to the guild, learning the ropes. Encouraged to ask questions, join events, and get involved. Promotion to Trooper is based on participation and community fit.

🔹 Allies & Guests
Friends of the guild, partner members, or returning veterans on break. They’re part of the community, though not involved in votes or leadership matters unless formally reactivated.
