In the world of Dune: Awakening, Arrakis forces every man into a choice: kneel… or harden.
Adun chose the second path.
Once, on the Buzzel server, his name was known not only as a Mentat, but as a builder of order. When he became the leader of House Protoss, the deserts were fractured. Factions betrayed one another, spice wars consumed entire sietches, and survival meant abandoning morality. Adun was never the kind of commander who screamed on the battlefield. He was colder than that. Patient. Calculating. A man who studied outcomes before others even understood the game being played.
People used to say:
> “Adun wins wars before they begin.”
Under his leadership, House Protoss became more than a guild. It became a force that imposed stability across Arrakis. Smugglers were controlled, trade routes were protected, and traitors vanished beneath the endless sands. His Mentat mind allowed him to predict enemy movements weeks in advance, making House Protoss feared throughout Buzzel. Many factions rose against him. Most disappeared.
But power does not exhaust a man. People do.
Years of betrayal, political games, and endless conflict slowly changed Adun. He had brought order to the world around him, yet found none within himself. Then one night, without warning, he disappeared. House Protoss fell silent. Some believed he had died in the deep desert. Others claimed he had chosen exile, living alone far from the ambitions of men.
Now, whispers spread once again.
Pax server. Umbu Sietch.
At first it was subtle. Old Protoss symbols began appearing across the sands. Spice convoys traveled unharmed through dangerous territory. Raiders and smugglers started vanishing without explanation. Veterans immediately understood what it meant.
Adun had returned.
But this time, he was different.
He no longer sought an empire. He no longer cared for thrones or politics. Though he once ruled factions, his true goal had become distance — surviving quietly, away from the endless greed of Arrakis. Yet the desert has always followed one cruel rule:
Strong men are never left alone for long.
As House Protoss rises again within Umbu Sietch, rumors surrounding Adun spread from camp to camp:
> “Protect the order. Avoid meaningless wars. Survive. And never become another man’s chain.”
But Arrakis does not tolerate peace forever.
And the sands always remember old names. <3
