The Cave system known as the Vents of Eifrit, named for the Old Earth Spirit who is described as being made of fire and smoke, is a small cave located in the Hagga Basin and located at the center of four local settlements and outposts run by scavenger bands. The cave is filled with unusable scrap that has been set alight in the attempt to use the cave as a furnace to smelt it down into useable ingots and resale across Arrakis and a small protected room from which the local scavengers operate and maintain the fires and the constant melting of scrap.
