Boosting the Signal is a Contract at The Mithra, and part of the Lost Harvest DLC. It can be picked up from Lieutenant Drangh
Description
Thanks to you we now have a way to send out the Mithra's automated distress call, but the range on this jury-rigged shortwave transmitter is too limited. We deployed a relay beacon on the rocks above, but it's not responding, and neither are the techs I sent to check on it. I need you to get that beacon working - and whatever else it takes for us to get that distress signal sent.
Task
- Repair the relay beacon
- Check with Lt. Drangh
- Locate the Mithra side entrance
- Activate the auxiliary power console
- Reactivate the distress beacon
- Return to Lt. Drangh

Completion
Lieutenant Drangh: You're back.
Player: (Complete contract) Is there anything else I can do? Lieutenant Drangh: No. All we can do is monitor the emergency frequencies and wait for pickup. Hope the recovery team gets here before a sandstorm. Lieutenant Drangh: Thanks again, stranger.
Dialogue
Player: Now that you've rebuilt the comms unit, are we online? Lieutenant Drangh: No. We've only succeeded at generating a shortwave signal that doesn't even clear these rocks. Lieutenant Drangh: We need to boost the signal if we want to contact the recovery crew. Player: How do we do that? Lieutenant Drangh: We deployed a relay beacon at a high point in the rocks, but it's not responding, and neither is the tech crew I sent up there to check on it. Lieutenant Drangh: If you can fight your way up there and repair the beacon, I can boost our comms signal to reach most of the sector. Player: (Accept contract) I'm on it. Lieutenant Drangh: Best of luck, stranger. Although something about you tells me you don't need it. Player: Goodbye.
After repairing the beacon
Lieutenant Drangh: You're back. Player: Anything else I can lend a hand with? Lieutenant Drangh: As it turns out, yes. While you were working to get the signal booster operational, the automated distress signal from the Mithra suddenly went dead. Lieutenant Drangh: Odds are the power just ran out. A lot of our generators and batteries were smashed when the harvester fell. I have a work-around though Player: What would you need me to do? Lieutenant Drangh: Make your way through the interior of the wreck, activate the comms system's auxiliary power, and then reactivate the distress beacon. Player: Enter the wreck, activate power, send the signal. Got it! Lieutenant Drangh: The Mithra's side access is the closest point to the comms station. Let's just hope everything is reasonably intact in there. Good luck!
Tips
The relay beacon is in the rocks above the Mithra wreckage. Once the player interacts with the beacon, 3 Kirab ambushers will appear and attack.
