Lore
During the Sardaukar pogrom of 10195 A.G., Imperial forces began a systematic eradication of the Fremen across Arrakis. During the Imperial effort a young Fremen man was cornered and trapped by the Sardaukar at a small cave and rock formation in the southern region of the Hagga Basin. For weeks this Fremen man named Kaleff survived their attacks and endured efforts to hunt him down, only venturing forth from this cave to hunt his enemy using his modified kindjal to drain the blood from his enemies to sustain himself. His efforts eventually failed as the Sardaukar cornered him within this cave, seizing his unique kindjal from his corpse.
Atop this cave is landmark called Kaleff's Monument, erected by those who heard the tale of his resistance, forever marking this location as point of geographical significance in the Basin and a reminder of the Fremen who once occupied the Basin and Arrakis.
