CHOAM Salvage Rights
The Kirab have found caches of Harkonnen turrets on Arrakis and are using them to shoot cargo laden CHOAM shipments out of the space above Arrakis. Find the CHOAM merchants on Arrakis to get 3 new contracts, 4 new weapon variants, and 1 new base decoration in this limited time event leading into Chapter 2 of Dune: Awakening. The event will end on September 10th, 2025.
Activities
You'll notice right away a seemingly endless number of fiery shots arcing across the sky in all directions and a constant barrage of ships falling all around the basin. If you follow one of the shots back down its trail, you'll notice giant turrets protected by Kirab soldiers. To find out what is going on, you'll need to head to either one of the 4 trade posts (it seems to be random by sietch which trade post the merchant will spawn at), Harko Village, or Arrakeen and find the CHOAM Merchants who can fill you in on what is going on in Hagga Basin. Any of the merchants can give you three new contracts to fulfill:
- Kill 25 Kirab
- Sabotage Kirab Emplacement
- Retrieve CHOAM Cargo
You can collect CHOAM Cargo from looting the ships that the Kirab have shot out of the sky, but be warned, they will not give up their treasure without a fight and the sandworms will pose an extra risk as well. You can also find the cargo in chests on turret emplacements guarded by 1-2 Kirab and you can temporarily disable the turret after dispatching them.
Rewards
You can trade CHOAM Cargo back to any of the merchants to claim new weapon variants and a statue of the turrets. To earn all 5 items, you will need 125 CHOAM Cargo in total. The amount of cargo per item is as is below:
