Hagga Basin

The Hagga Basin is a massive depression in Arrakis’ outer crust, protecting it from the worst of the planetary coriolis storms that scour most of the planet. Thanks also to the Shield Wall mountain range, it is one of the few locations on Arrakis where people permanently reside, aside from the hidden Fremen Sietches.

Hagga Basin contains a variety of geological formations and unique environments, such as the iron-rich sands of the Vermillius Gap, the deep Hagga Rift, the comparatively lush O’odham, the irradiated Sheol, to name but a few.
