Sandstorms are a common occurrence on Arrakis, as the sand planet has very high wind speeds on daily basis. [1]
Sandstorms in game
In Dune: Awakening, sandstorms will present an obstacle to your survival, with movement and vision heavily limited. [2] [3]
Coriolis storm
Coriolis storms are the most powerful of Arrakis's sandstorms, with winds hurling dust so fast they can cut metal. These storms allow the infinite exploration pillar of the game, with them changing the entire deep desert landscape with procedural generation every week, uncovering new locations and schematics, and burying others.
