The Hagga Basin is a massive depression in Arrakis' outer crust, protecting it from the worst of the planetary Coriolis Storms that scour most of the planet. Thanks also to the Shield Wall mountain range, it is one of the few locations on Arrakis where people permanently reside, aside from the hidden Fremen Sietches.

De Hagga-Bekken bevat een variëteit aan geologische formaties en unieke omgevingen, zoals de ijzerrijke zanden van de Vermillius Kloof, de diepe Hagga Slenk, het relatief begroeide O'odham of zelfs de bestraalde Sheol, om er maar een paar op te noemen.
