Update 1.4

Update 1.4 was released on 19 May 2026 as the third major content update for Dune: Awakening.

Highlights

Update 1.4 is an intentionally smaller release, while the team continues working on major upcoming content. Beyond the recently discussed Polar Cap map, even more is in development: new features, new content, and the Chapter 4 continuation of the main story.

Free Content

All players received a free content update to the game:

• 2 new Overland Locations
  • Wind Pass: Once a Harkonnen tech hub, now a key point in Arrakis’ water trade under the control of the Water Shippers.
  • The Old Quarry: Players will confront the morally questionable scientist Dr. Jalanta, operating from a hidden laboratory.
• 6 new corresponding Landsraad Missions
• 1 new corresponding Journey with an exclusive Garment Variant reward
• Self-Hosted Servers are now available! This is an early iteration of the feature, and Funcom is working on adding more server settings and various optimizations.

• PvP now fully optional!

Paid Content

An optional Downloadable Content pack was released at the same time: The Water Wars, accessible to Season Pass owners or players who purchased the DLC separately.
