Server Migrations
Server migrations are announced, and servers will close on 26 May 2026.
Scenario 1: Your character is in a World that is NOT closing
No action needed. You can keep playing normally.
Scenario 2: Your character is in a World that IS closing
Characters in affected Worlds will go through a Character Transfer process.
When the World closes:
- When you are on the Server Browser, you’ll choose which World to migrate to
- Your bases can be redeployed in a new World using the Base Reconstruction Tool
- All your vehicles will also be backed up in your Vehicle Backup Tool, which will have a new “Auto Transfer” section. This section will allow you to recover all of your transferred vehicles.
If you do not already own a Base Reconstruction Tool and Vehicle Backup Tool, you will receive one through the Claim Rewards menu.
To claim it:
- Press Escape (or Start on controller)
- Open Claim Rewards
- Collect your Base Reconstruction Tool and Vehicle Backup Tool
If your base was designed in a way that it only works for a very specific location, in a specific position, you can use Snap to Origin in the tool to reposition it automatically to its original location. If the location is already taken in one Sietch, you can try another one.
Vehicles stored in the Vehicle Backup Tool will transfer normally.
Scenario 3: You want to move your character to a Private Server or Self-Hosted Server
This will work largely like Scenario 2. But keep in mind that it is a one-way trip and you won’t be able to transfer that character back to an official World.
Before doing so, we recommend:
- Make sure you own a Base Reconstruction Tool
- Disassemble your vehicles and store them in base storage
- This will make sure they transfer with your character and base during Character Transfer
- Modify your base to make it easier to rebuild in another location
- This will give you more flexibility by making the base placeable in more locations
- Use the Base Reconstruction Tool to save your base to your character
- Choose the World you want to migrate to, and scout the base location before choosing to settle down on that Sietch
- Note: transferring away from closing World after the release of 1.3.20.0 does not consume a Transfer Token
- Moving between Sietches does not consume a Transfer Token, so you can go to your desired location and check multiple Sietches before you settle down

PVE-first Open World Survival
- All PvP zones in Hagga Basin will be disabled across all official Worlds.
- All official Worlds will have separate Deep Desert instances you can choose from:
- A PvE instance for pure survival and exploration experience with no player combat. There is no PvP in this instance across any of the rows, including Shipwrecks.
- A PvP instance with the classic high-stakes environment and open-world conflict across rows B through I. To make sure the rewards match the risk, the yield from mining and spice harvesting will be multiplied by 2.5 in PvP areas.
Self Hosted Servers Full instructions on how to set up and customize self-hosted servers will be included in the patch notes when the feature becomes available. Please be advised that the initial setup for this first iteration of the feature is more technical than most other games and requires a computer running Microsoft Windows Pro with Hyper-V in order to run the servers in a Linux Virtual Machine (VM).
Q&A
- Dune: Awakening runs a larger, more complex world, requiring a more technical setup than most other games.
- This is an early experimental version of self-hosting. The goal is to make hosting easier, more accessible, and less technical over time.
- Bare minimum server hardware requirements for 1-4 players on the same map:
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit Pro with Hyper-V
- MEMORY: 20 GB RAM
- PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600
- NETWORK: Broadband Internet connection
- STORAGE: 100GB
- ADDITIONAL NOTES: SSD required
- You are free to experiment with running the server directly on Linux, but it is currently not officially supported.
- All self-hosted server customization options will also be made available to private servers, though hosting providers may implement them differently.
- You will be able to transfer your character from Official servers to Private and Self-hosted ones, but never back to an Official server again.
- Player capacity is determined by your server hardware, but it is generally 40 in most cases.
- The self-hosted server feature is free.
- This initial version of self-hosting requires Windows Pro with Hyper-V. Additional options may be explored later.
- PvP rules can be freely customised, among other things.

Addressing the recent Hagga Basin incident
- While Chapter 3 has brought much to celebrate, we did run into an issue that had to be addressed quickly. An exploit allowed players to damage unpowered bases in Hagga Basin.
- To help repair the damage caused by this incident, we are taking the following steps:
- If your world was not rolled back, or if you lost your base earlier during the weekend, our Customer Support team is ready to assist. They will provide generous resource packages to help you rebuild. While we cannot restore specific individual items, these kits are designed to get you back on your feet quickly.
- From Friday, February 27 (08:00 CET) to Monday, March 2 (08:00 CET), we are doubling the number of mined resources, and specialization XP, faction reputation, loot in overland dungeons, and House Scrip gained from Landsraad Missions for all players globally. To give players the opportunity to take advantage of that, today’s hotfix will set everyone’s Mnemonic Recollections at the maximum limit of 35, regardless of how many charges they have left.
- We have permanently banned 155 biggest offenders and applied 289 14-day suspensions to other players who knowingly abused this exploit. These were not new players; they were individuals who chose to bypass the game’s mechanics to harm others. Such behavior has no place in Dune: Awakening.
Patch 1.3.10.0
- As we look toward the next update, our goal is threefold:
- Refine Chapter 3 content.
- Eliminate lingering bugs.
- Initiate character migration and the phased server consolidation process.
- Additionally, we want to address one of the frictions with the Landsraad cycle when players cannot complete missions during term suspension by minimizing or entirely removing this downtime. You should be able to engage with this system whenever it fits your schedule.
Introducing The Ruins of Tsimpo
- In Chapter 3, we’ve introduced 10 new overland maps, and the Ruins of Tsimpo is a new location to which players will be sent to help the Houses complete various missions.
- Tsimpo was a small village which held important strategic value during the early days of the war when Arrakeen and Carthag were both posturing for position.
- The visibility is poor, with dust filtering through the air, like the aftermath of a sandstorm that never clears, clouding and obscuring.
- There will be 5 new Landsraad Missions available, one for each specialization. They will range from recovering evidence of forbidden ordnance or unlawful targeting to surveying ruins with experimental dust probes and bringing down the “ghosts” of Tsimpo, who are slaughtering caravans.
Character Migrations
- With Patch 1.3.10.0, we will begin the process of migrating characters and consolidating less populated official servers.
- Our data consistently shows that player retention and enjoyment are highest when players are part of a thriving world. Increasing population density ensures that finding allies for difficult content or enemies to fight in the Deep Desert is seamless.
- Once the patch is live, the affected servers will be clearly flagged in-game for players with characters on them. During this phase, you can choose to immediately initiate a token-free character transfer after backing up your base and storing all vehicles.
- If you prefer to wait until the world closes, your characters and everything they own, including bases and vehicles, will be stored safely for you automatically. You can then resume your journey anytime on a new server of your choice and retrieve your bases and vehicles using the Base Reconstruction Tool and Vehicle Backup Tool. You can claim a free copy of each tool through the “Claim Rewards” button in the System Menu.
- Our goal is to ensure a seamless transition, and we want you to feel prepared for these changes. Please reach out to us on Discord, Reddit, or social media with your thoughts so that we can include all relevant information in our future communication.

The Making of Chapter 3
- Player feedback has been invaluable in helping improve the game and steer it in the right direction. This update is a direct response to the two most common player requests:
- The desire for a more fleshed out endgame.
- Creating a smoother experience coming back to Dune: Awakening after an extended period away from the game.
A Bigger, Better Endgame
- Endgame preferences vary across players, but by combining your feedback with in-game telemetry, we’ve gained a clear picture of which content and systems matter most:
- More options in the endgame, more ways to play that are all equally rewarding.
- More content; more stuff to discover and experience in the world of Arrakis.
- To be able to take full advantage of everything the endgame has to offer, without being forced to engage in a play style they don’t want to.
- More ways to advance their character, with deeper progression systems.
- In addition to the continuation of the main story and many other additions, this update introduces more meaningful ways to progress after reaching Plastanium (Tier 6).
- Expand late-game play with deeper choices, shared goals, and more ways for players to continue growing.
- Introduction of Specialization of Augmentation Systems
- In terms of content, we’ve added 10 new locations on the Overland Map, including:
- Repeatable testing stations that feature challenging boss encounters with scaling difficulty and increasingly valuable loot.
- Players can now also take missions for the Landsraad, missions that provide more flexible ways to complete assignments and collect rewards, regardless of your play style.
Making it Easier to Take a Break and Return Later
- The other much-shared feedback point we’ve received is that it can be daunting coming back to Dune: Awakening after an extended break. To make returning to Dune: Awakening smoother after a long hiatus, we have added the following:
- Base Reconstruction Tool: Last year, we introduced a tool that allows you to pack up your base, store it, and then reassemble it. This is a great tool for when you know you will be taking an extended break from the game.
- Increasing Bank Storage: Last year we also made it easier for players to safely store everything they have been working hard on obtaining by increasing the bank storage space.
- Character Transfers: Earlier this month, we also introduced Character Transfers. Not only is this useful for active players who might want to move to a more active World or Sietch, it’s also great for returning players who might be in a situation where their friends have left, and they want to find a more active home to play in.
- With Chapter 3, we’re making two additional improvements:
- No More Taxes, regardless of base size.
- Custom return packages full of resources to help you jump back into the game.
- Once Chapter 3 is live, the package will be available to every character that hasn’t logged in for 28 days and can be claimed via the “Claim Rewards” option in the in-game menu.

Base Reconstruction Tool
- A while back, we mentioned the Base Reconstruction Tool, something many of you have been excited about. We are currently making improvements based on your feedback, but we need more time to properly address all comments. As a result, this feature is shifting to the next update, arriving later than originally planned.
Server Migrations
- We’ve also seen many questions about server migrations and character transfers, so we want to clarify how this will work.
- Empty or low-population worlds will be marked in-game for closure.
- Players on these worlds will be able to migrate to their preferred world and sietch, bringing their bases, inventory and vehicles with them.
- If you miss the migration period, or have been away for a while, you will still be able to migrate later from the game’s main menu and bring bases, inventory and vehicles with you.
- We understand how important server population and migration are to bring the best out of the game. Our first step is to give players the tools to move freely.
- This includes both the Base Reconstruction Tool and Character Transfers.
- Once both tools are live, we’ll begin monitoring server populations and will share our merge plans well in advance so everyone can prepare.
- Our goal is simple: players should be able to move to their preferred world and sietch with their full base, inventory, and character progress intact.
Carrier Ornithopter Cargo Container
- With the recent addition of vehicle harnessing across maps, we’re now preparing the next step: the Cargo Container for the Carrier Ornithopter.
- This large, ground-built container-assembled with the welding torch-can be picked up and transported by the Carrier.
- The new Cargo Container will make large-scale material transport across the map more efficient.
Chapter 3
- One of our key focuses for the next chapter is adding more activities for both solo and co-op players. You can expect to see:
- New progression paths.
- New locations to explore.
- Difficulty scaling for the new Overland Testing Stations.
- Chapter 3 will also continue the main storyline, and much more. We’ll have more to share in December, so stay tuned.
October
Cargo Containers
- One of the short-term improvements mentioned in our previous update was the cargo container for Carrier Ornithopters.
- The upcoming patch will enable the ability to travel between maps with harnessed vehicles.
- The cargo container will be added in our December update.
Player Event Log
- Another change we want to update everyone on is the improved player logging system.
- Our long-term goal is to expand the player log to record all meaningful in-game events, such as:
- Item withdrawals and deposits.
- Resource refinement
- Building tool actions, etc.
- We’re also exploring ways to categorize logs more clearly to help you find relevant information faster and reduce the chance of missing key activity.
Game Balance
- Tuning skills, weapons, abilities, etc. is an ongoing process, informed by in-game data and your feedback.
- Regardless of scope, every adjustment is made with our broader design philosophies in mind. For instance, providing players with meaningful ways to disengage from combat encounters:
- Crippling Strike being less punishing for those on the receiving end.
- Reduced stamina dash costs and increased dash distance.
- We encourage you to continue providing feedback on Discord, Reddit, and Steam by engaging in discussions with fellow sleepers about the things you enjoy and sharing any pain points that affect your gameplay.
Character Transfers and Server Merges
- We’ve also seen questions about character transfers and server merges, so here’s where we are at:
- Character transfers are well underway, and if testing goes smoothly, they will be ready within the next few weeks.
- This feature will allow you to move your character, along with all your progress, inventory, and anything stored in your bank or backup tools, to a World and Sietch of your choice.
- To make those moves easier, we will also introduce what we internally call a Base Backup Tool.
- This new tool lets you store your entire base, along with nearly all its contents, as an item in your character’s inventory.
- As for server merges, they’ll follow soon after and by the end of this year, we’ll outline all the necessary information about this process.
- Several weeks will pass from that moment until the merging process begins, so that everyone has enough time to prepare.
Chapter 3
- Chapter 3 is the next major content update planned for Q1 2026. At its core, the goal for the next chapter is to enrich the endgame experience.
- We'll be transforming the Landsraad into a contract-based system that offers repeatable PVE activities.
- Expanding the character progression with specializations.
- Crafting the next chapter in the main storyline, and much, much more.
