The Bene Gesserit Sisterhood is an ancient order of spies, advisors, and truthsayers that manipulates the Imperium from the shadows. Theirs is the hand that seeks to steer the very evolution of humanity.

Lore

A secretive, revered, and sometimes feared sisterhood that utilizes the female human body and mind to the greatest extent possible, the Bene Gesserit are often referred to as "witches" due to the incredible abilities they develop, including pulling factual information from seemingly nowhere, detecting even the most skilled lies, and commanding obedience in others with nothing more than words.

The true purpose and focus of the Bene Gesserit, however, is to create a "superbeing" known as the Kwisatz Haderach. This goal is pursued primarily through the use of selective breeding of the entire Imperium via their own, carefully chosen, members who possess the correct genetics desired for a specific pairing as well as their vast genealogical database. These pairings come with the added benefit of granting the Bene Gesserit massive political and social influence within the Imperium.

The Bene Gesserit also engineer the myths, religion, and even culture of the more primitive races in the Imperium through the Missionaria Protectiva. The most notable influence of the Missionaria Protectiva is on the Fremen of Arrakis, where the myth of Lisan al-Gaib was created to enable the sisterhood to exert their control over the Fremen without the use of force.

In-Game

Lady Jessica is a member of this order, and in this Alternate Timeline, gives birth to a daughter, Ariste Atreides, instead of Paul Atreides, whom she attempts to train as a Bene Gesserit despite the girl's distaste for the organization's intentions for her. As a result of her obedience to the Sisterhood, she is trained as a truthsayer and foils Dr. Yueh's plan, allowing the Atreides to survive the ambush during the Siege of Arrakeen.

Lady Margot Fenring is a Truthsayer (And possibly a Reverend Mother) of this order as well, having been selected to pair with Count Hasimir Fenring, presumably as a check on the Count's immense power as a member of the Padishah Emperor's inner circle.

Players also encounter Jocasta Cleo, a Sister on the run. She served as part of the Missionaria Protectiva.
