The Guide is an NPC that players will only encounter upon their first death by sandworm, in a sort of metaphysical spirit realm, once they have obtained a sandbike and completed the Journey "Across the Gap".

Declining the gifted sandbike from The Guide is the only way to obtain the Achievement "Lisan al-Gaib". If a player fails to unlock this achievement on one character, they can still do so on a new character.

Location

The Guide is located in a sort of metaphysical space, made to look like a chamber placed inside a sandworm's mouth.

Dialogue

The Guide: You have been called by Him, by Shai-Hulud. Yet, you live. This must also be of his will.

Player (Choice 1): What do you want?
Player (Choice 2): I feel strange... am I dead?

The Guide: Shai-Hulud speaks and says "be prepared to appreciate what you meet". He has taken all that you are and found in your soul no nourishment.

Player (Choice 1): I don't understand.
Player (Choice 2): Do you speak anything that isn't gibberish?

The Guide: Plain words then. Pay attention. When the worm comes for you, he takes all that you have. Do not tempt Shai-Hulud. Fear him, or lose all.
The Guide: A fool with a great destiny who is destroyed by God is just a fool. Do you understand?

Player: I don't understand.

The Guide: And sometimes people are fools before destiny even arrives. Simply put - SANDWORM EAT YOU. ALL YOUR STUFF GONE.

Player: If the sandworm kills me, I lose everything.

The Guide: Yes. Except this once. Shai-Hulud is troubled by your hollow soul. He offers no mercy. What he takes is his. But I am here.
The Guide: I offer you this gift. Once and once only. Will you take this gift?

Player (Choice 1): I accept the gift. <You will receive a sandbike>
Player (Choice 2): I reject your gift. I will do this without help.
