VELMA UDEC: [4.2]The Solari is the physical medium of exchange in the Imperium. It is circulated in myriad paper and coin denominations or 'micro-solaris' as they are known in the Regency Worlds. The Imperial economy relies on the Solari to facilitate transactions and fuel financial growth. [4.3]The simple answer is 'interstellar banking.' As part of the Spacing Guild, the Guild Bank is able to utilize the Transport Guilds' unmatched projection across the known universe. With this synergy, our Guild Pursers are able to move any quantity of funds across any quantity of worlds. The power of interstellar commerce.

VELMA UDEC: [4.2.1.] "The Solari's purchasing power is reestablished every four centuries at a conclave known as the Imperial Diet. There, negotiations commence between the Emperor and the highest representitives of the Guild and Landsraad. The location and host of the Imperial Diet alternates between the three factions. The next is set to occur at Junction, the Guild homeworld, in two-hundred and seventy-seven years." [4.2.2.] "Many core worlds have their own local currency or scrip, often circulated and controlled by the ruling House Major. However, the Solari drives interstellar banking and is accepted throughout the known universe." [4.2.3.] "No, the spice Melange is a commodity. While it is the most valuable commodity in the known universe, its value is established in Solaris. Spice is bought in Solaris. It is sold in Solaris."

Notes

The banker in Arrakeen, Urbano Montag, has almost exactly the same conversation text, with one exception(excluding small changes to the order of the conversation choices). In the sentence "The power of interstellar commerce." the word "power" is replaced with "joys".
